Weekly Recap

The fourth week of the 2026 season continued to showcase the remarkable diversity that makes this destination such a special place in the Amazon. Stable conditions and good water clarity created excellent opportunities for our group of eight American anglers, resulting in productive fishing and memorable experiences throughout the week.

With the river holding good visibility, each day brought new possibilities across different sections of water. The group enjoyed steady action, varied species, and the kind of rhythm that makes every day at Xingu Lodge feel unique.

This week also brought a deeper layer to the journey. Beyond the fishing itself, two guests had the opportunity to experience the region through its cultural and natural heritage, adding a meaningful dimension to their time on the river.

Fishing Highlights

Fishing remained productive throughout the week, with anglers finding action from a wide variety of species. Peacock bass continued to provide steady moments on the water, while payara, matrinxã, pacu, pirarara, jaú, and trairão all contributed to a diverse and exciting catch list.

The variety of species was one of the defining points of the week. From fast strikes to powerful catfish battles, the fishing reflected the strength of the season and the unique character of these waters.

Beyond the Fishing

One of the most meaningful highlights of the week came from the ecotourism experience enjoyed by two of our guests. In addition to their time fishing, they had the opportunity to visit Kayapó communities along the banks of the river.

During the visit, they learned about local traditions, shared moments with community members, and walked ancient trails that have connected these lands for generations. It was a rare chance to experience the Xingu from another perspective, beyond the cast and the riverbanks.

Experiences like these show that Xingu Lodge offers much more than outstanding fishing. It is a place where guests can connect with remarkable landscapes, ancestral knowledge, and one of the most important Indigenous cultures in the Brazilian Amazon.

Looking Ahead

Week 4 added another memorable chapter to the 2026 season, bringing together stable conditions, clear water, productive fishing, and meaningful cultural experiences.
